agree, nw racing has gone downhill. there is no value in the series. I've raced it all, moto, car, snowboard, and downhill. the insurance is much cheaper on cycling events then the other's with prices being higher for cycling. plus without a real local series, like just a skibowl series, jones creek series, or WIM series. Just like the PIR short track series, a race every week is how it was years ago, and it worked to bring the riders.

oregon hood river super d, and the wife and chance is racing this year. two riders $160 for weekend when money tight. Now mike don't get the pants in a bunch, this is not about you or ski bowl races. I do say there isn't much value in the races any more, not when nationals are only $50. really whining? I've been at all but one of these races to show support and bring raffle when I can. Bottom line the races up their bring very little to me and my shop, not when there's deals to be had right in the parking lot. I've been working on the glade already for the next race, SO WHINING I DON"T THINK SO. Just telling it as it is, People don't go race for raffle they race for the love to do it. One run with short half day practice not worth $70 or $80.

It cost me $25 back 93 to race skibowl and everyone got two runs. two runs would make it more worth the money. I remeber when we three runs at jones creek for just $20. I'm not racing much this year mostly becuase I can't ever practice the course on my free time, expert course is always closed. I Just won't get hurt pushing hard on a course I don't know. It would be nice to see grassroot racing come back. Thats where the fun is, not just trying to be the biggest. Plus the pro's might bring still, but the money comes from the beginners, sports, expert riders, so why the only work that gets done on the trails are on the pro course and not the sport or beginner courses. a better course would bring more riders.

I agree with motoracer on this one, I've raced downhill and moto races and see a much better value with the motocross bike then the downhill. Moto insurance is much more expensive then dealing with obra or us cycling insurance. Take note the winter races at woodland MX $30 race fee's 4 lap practice and 2 20min moto's. 10 years ago there was more downhill races then today and was much cheaper. wim, jones creek downhill, couger mountain, skibowl, and meny more. don't get me wrong I support as meny races as I can. but there's just no local pride any more.

I'll take a mert lawwill's designed bike anyday over any other's to date. He was truely the man. everything else has no real advantage over a well designed single pivot. Thats why most all top world cup racers ride them.
